Freedom of Speach, Yes, But Please, in Your Own Time
December 22nd 2007 05:41
I am a great advocate of freedom of speach, however there's a limit that should not be crossed. for instance yelling 'fire' into a crowded theatre is definitely not on, and complaining about the Bush Administrations handling of the Iraq War is a definite no-no. Repeatedly asking questions like 'where are the wmds?' is also crossing the boundaries. Our founding fathers never expected freeom of speach to be used against our Commander in Chief.
Now, if you insist on your petty ramblings and accusatory and baseless accusations (things like 'Viet Nam is onne word, not two') then go right ahead. But please, do it in your own time, in your own space, away from me and my blog. If you disagree with me, please, don't comment here. I can't handle it when someone disagrees with obvious facts which are only obvious because I agree with them. So when you have something to say that disagrees with me, please, do it on your own blog.
I'll stick to mine and you stick to yours. That way we can all be free and none of us will have to deal with the inconveniences of the other persons views.

I partially agree with you, Ahmed. I agree shouting "Fire" in a crowded room is not freedome of speech, nor is uttering anything against the law. But let the people use this freedom to say against the war or WMDs.
Such utterances automatically subside when people stop paying attention to them. That is the only form of restraining the freedom.
